2005 - 2006
Under the direction of Dr. Robert Todd 12 students completed BYU's first FSAE vehicle. Finishing 34/71 this team laid the foundation for what BYU Racing will become
2006 -2007

After shaving off over 100lbs the team placed 22/75. This was the first year they finished all of the events
2007-2008

With a mechanical failure in the autocross event the team placed 27/75
2008-2009

Did not compete due to a late change in regulations. Still received design awards for their innovative design
2009-2010
A formative year in our history where the switch from IC to hybrid was made. With 120 lithium ion cells BYU raced its way into 4th
2010-2011
Reinvigorated the team improved their design allowing the car to be driven with just the IC, battery or both. This resulted in a 2nd place finish
2011-2012
Improved design, lighter weight, and more power all resulted in the final victory lap for Dr. Robert Todd. A first place finish was the perfect way to mark the start of his retirement. The team was disbanded with no inkling of resurgence.
2023-2024

After over a decade BYU Racing is reborn this time fully electric and with over 50 members. A water leak into the battery system resulted in an inability to complete the dynamic events and a 58/75 finish
2024-2025

Lighter weight, added aero, improved suspension and more. Now up to around 75 -100 members BYU Racing is unable to compete due to an electrical failure weeks before the competition. The switch was made to a 2 year design cycle. The car built this year would compete in 2026, while the car built in 2026 would compete in 2027.
2025-2026

Improved electronics, active aero, carbon fiber components and more including a custom lap time simulation predicting a top 10 finish.
